Clearing the Air About Asbestos

The dangers of asbestos exposure have been known for years and, as a result, the use of asbestos in the United States has been declining steadily. Existing asbestos continues to pose a serious health hazard that can result in Asbestosis, Lung Cancer, and Mesothelioma, a rare form of cancer known to be caused only by exposure to asbestos. At CSC, we are experts at detecting the presence of asbestos and determining an abatement plan that is safe, provides minimal disruption in the workplace, and will rid your site of all contaminants. If you suspect that asbestos is present in your building or at your site, we can help.

Facts About Asbestos

Asbestos was very Useful

Asbestos is the name for six different compounds found naturally in our environment.  With characteristics such as high thermal insulation, chemical and thermal stability, and high tensile strength, they enjoyed widespread use in building materials, paper products, asbestos-cement, brakes, textiles and other applications.

When is Asbestos a Hazard?

Exposure to asbestos can occur in a variety of ways. Airborne particles can be released by eroding natural deposits, from asbestos-related industries, or from the brakes and clutches of vehicles. It may be detected indoors when released from building materials like insulation and ceiling and floor tiles. It may also be released into water through erosion, corrosion of asbestos-cement pipes, or disintegration of asbestos roofing that finds its way into sewers. Asbestos is not always an immediate hazard. Only when materials containing asbestos are disturbed or damaged does asbestos become a problem. If asbestos is maintained properly, it is often best to leave it in place and regularly monitor its condition.

We find the Asbestos Solution

Asbestos-related diseases can take between fifteen and forty years to manifest themselves, making it absolutely vital that the presence of asbestos is detected long before anyone gets sick.  If you have a potential asbestos problem, we will send a team of certified experts who will provide you with an accurate asbestos survey detailing the building materials or site locations where asbestos was found.  Should asbestos be detected, we will provide you with an asbestos abatement plan that complies with all environmental regulations, and initiate immediate mitigation of all potential exposure.  We’ll be there to monitor the progress of your abatement plan through to completion, and to provide detailed reports for litigation support should the need arise.
